About ASA
The Acarological Society of America (ASA) is a non-profit organization with the mission to further the study and research of all aspects of the Acari. It was founded in 1984 by a group of entomologists and acarologists during the “Golden age” of acarological development. Our members are mostly affiliated with educational institutions and private industry including researchers, faculty, extension specialists, marketing representatives, graduate and undergraduate students interested in the field of acarology.
ASA promotes the dissemination of scientific knowledge related to acarology through our annual symposia offered in conjunction with the Entomological Society of America’s annual meeting. As part of our mission, we offer discounted and no-fee journal subscriptions to our members as well as support for early-career professionals with monetary awards for excellence in research.
